All Are Welcome

All baptized Christians—no matter age or denomination—are welcome to "receive communion." Episcopalians invite all baptized people to receive, not because we take the Eucharist lightly, but because we take our baptism so seriously.

Visitors who are not baptized Christians are welcome to come forward during the Communion to receive a blessing from the presider.

At the end of the Eucharist, the congregation prays once more in thanksgiving, and then is dismissed to continue the life of service to God and to the World.

Worship at St. Stephen’s is a mixure of the joyous, the spontaneous and the formal.

• Some gather at 8:00 a.m. for a quiet service.
• Some gather at 10:00 a.m. for a service that includes singing, a children’s homily and a not too long sermon.
• Some gather at other times for special services honoring those who have died, celebrating those who are joining together in marriage and for those special days and times throughout the year when gathering together for worship just seems like the right thing to do.
• And, we experience the Good News that God loves us, is always with us and wants us to live a life filled with love and joy!

Education at St. Stephen’s is practical, lively and available for all ages.

• We study the Bible to learn of God’s love and how to live it day to day.
• We gather with our kids to share in their joy and wonder at life and at how much God is there for us.
• We have lively discussions to discover the many interesting ways God’s love is revealed to us in one another.
• We learn that God’s love is the greatest Good News there is. And, we find there is no end to the things we can learn together.
• We teach one another and we continue to be delighted with and surprised by all that we can discover together.
